- Choose text tool – (Short key T) and type text
- Select all (Ctrl + A) and choose font and size from Character (Ctrl + T) and go to Window and select colour guide (Shift + F3)
- Pick a colour from swatches.
- Now, select the text with selection tool (V) and go to control bar and select Object there is an option called Expand – click on that to get a box with the options which are given below:
- Click object, fill and ok
- The image will now look like this
- Go to control bar and select Effect, 3D and click on Extrude & Bevel
- 3D Extrude & Bevel Options
- Select positions
Click on the preview to see the changes
a] Select Front
b] Take angle how much ever necessary
c] Choose Perspective
d] Choose Extrude & Bevel
- Again go to control bar and choose object and select Expand Appearance
- Again go to object and select ungroup (Shift + Ctrl + G) now text and shade ungrouped, and select Text (front layer) using the selection tool and keep separate.
- Then select back shade and go to Window you will get the option called Pathfinder select it.
- Now it should unite (Alt – click) to create a compound shape and add to shape area)
- Open gradient and select the colours – Window Gradient (Ctrl F9)
- Gradient effect applies on the first layer
- Back layer colour convert into black
- The first layer brings over the black layer
- Select back layer one-by-one and gives shade by using gradient
- Final view
- If you want to highlight the edges give a very light outline and merge
